Problem

The pelvic floor is the base of the group of muscles referred to as your ‘core’. It supports the bladder and bowel for men, and the bladder, bowel and uterus for women.

What is the pelvic floor?

Importance of having strong pelvic floor muscles

It is one of the inner core muscles, the muscles that are activated before movements like lifting, taking a step, or reaching out. Pelvic floor muscles play a crucial role in our stability and balance.

Research shows that many pregnancy related complications arise after the delivery. New moms experience several physical health problems due to pelvic floor issues like urinary incontinence and perineum pain.

It is a condition where one is unable to correctly relax and coordinate the muscles in your pelvic floor (the base for your inner core muscles) to urinate or to have a bowel movement.

What is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction?

There are 2 types of pelvic floor dysfunctions:

Overactive & Underactive

Relaxation Techniques, Deep breathing exercises, Progressive muscle relaxation work for both
